National Mission Statement: To provide students with
the best prevention and intervention tools possible to deal with the
issues of underage drinking, other drug use, impaired driving and
other destructive decisions.
What is SADD? Originally, the mission of the
SADD chapter was to help young people say "No" to drinking and
driving. Today, the mission has expanded. Students have told us that
positive peer pressure, role models and other strategies can help
them say "No" to more than drinking and driving. And that is why
SADD has become a peer leadership organization dedicated to
preventing destructive decisions, particularly underage drinking,
other drug use, impaired driving, teen violence and teen depression
and suicide.
Seaholm SADD For many years SADD was a
strong student-led group at Seaholm High School in Birmingham,
Michigan. Overtime the group combined with the Seaholm Student
Government to form one large group promoting safe decisions of young
people in the greater Birmingham area.In October of 2008, four Seaholm students wanted to
reintroduce SADD to the student body. With the blessing of the
Seaholm Student Government, Seaholm SADD was reborn. Please join us as we encourage safe alternatives to the
numerous harms facing our young people today.
